Breast & Cervical Cancer Services
Screening Services include physical exam (including breast and pelvic exam), Pap test, mammogram, and further diagnosis and treatment if needed. The client can be seen at the Health Department or in the private sector. Mammograms are performed at Dorchester General Hospital. Money is also available for diagnosis and treatment of breast and cervical cancer. There is no age requirement in this case, although there are still some income requirements. Insurance requirements are the same as in the screening eligibility cases.
Eligibility: Women must be Maryland residents, must be 40 years of age or older, not have insurance or their insurance does not cover screening, and income less than 250% above the poverty level. Services are at no charge to eligible women or women who have Medicare Part A and B that meet income requirements. Women can self-refer.

Colorectal Cancer Screening
This program provides free examination and screening for colorectal cancer for individuals over 50 in Dorchester County who are financially eligible. Individual education and group presentations are available upon request to the general public. Eligibility: Men and women who are 50 years of age or older, who do not have insurance or their insurance does not cover screening or who have a family history of colon cancer or adenomatous polyps, and meet financial requirements are eligible for this program. Fees: This is a free service to those who qualify. Please call to verify eligibility.
