Immunization Schedule

Disease still exist, but many are preventable. Protect your child with the following immunizations (shots). Getting the shots, and getting all of them, is one of the most important things to do for your baby.

6 - 18 months IVP #3 & Hepatitis B #3 (2 months after Hep. B #2)
12 - 15 months MMR #1, Hib #4, & PCV #4
12 - 18 months Var
15 - 18 months DTaP #4
4 - 6 years DTaP #5, IPV #4, & MMR #2

 

Hepatitis B (Hep B): Protects your child against Hepatitis B virus which causes liver damage. Three doses.

Hib: Protects against Haemophilus Influenzae b which causes brain infection and brain damage. Four doses.

DTaP: Protects against Diphtheria (serious breathing problems that can lead to paralysis and heart failure), Tetanus (causes painful muscle spasms leading to lockjaw) and Pertussis (whooping cough). Five doses.

Polio (IPV): Protects against polio, a disease that can paralyze arms and legs. Four doses.

MMR: Protects against Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (Rubella is "German measles," a more serious form of measles that can lead to birth defects in babies). Two doses.

Varicella (Var): Protects your child from getting chicken pox. One dose.

PCV: cuts down on respiratory and ear infections as well as pneumonia.
